It has a vinous, relatively sweet taste. Chokeberry juice and spices added during its fermentation lend to its interesting flavours.

This type of mead is produced from honey mash created by mixing 1 part honey with 2 parts water.   It needs to mature for about 2 years. It contains 13% alcohol.
